Community Guidelines
The following Community Guidelines are here to help you understand how the Mozilla Creative Collective works. If you have any questions, please contact us.
What We're Looking For
The Creative Collective is the home of Mozilla's visual design community, and was built to host creative art and design inspired by the Mozilla ideals of openness, innovation, and participation. Although we certainly encourage you to submit designs centered around Firefox, Thunderbird or other Mozilla products, it's not required as long as your work adheres to the general themes noted above (we reserve the right to remove off-topic imagery from the gallery).
The focus of the Creative Collective is on design so we're really looking for graphic designs, illustrations and related artwork. Photographs are ok only if they are photographs of your work that cannot be uploaded as a source file (in other words, no personal photos, please).
What We're Not Looking For
Any uploaded materials that are crude, inappropriate, offensive, etc will be removed from the gallery immediately. If, as a user, you see something you feel meets this criteria please click the Flag This Design button on the design detail page to bring it to our attention. As the Creative Collective grows, we're counting on the community to help in this regard.
Site spam, such as irrelevant comments, multiple copies of the same image, material inappropriately promoting commercial products, etc, will also be removed from the site.
And, as noted above, the Creative Collective is not a place for personal photography - even the really good stuff (we recommend Flickr for that).
Proper Etiquette
The Creative Collective includes members from all over the world. Diversity helps to foster creativity. This is a social and collaborative space, so be considerate of your fellow members and their artwork, and be respectful of their views. If you see something that feels wrong, please report it to us directly, and we'll take care of it.
Learn from your peers and take inspiration from their work, but don’t copy. Make sure to provide credit where credit is due. If you incorporate another member's work into your own, make sure to link back to them and provide credit with their name (this can be done through the design title as well as the design description). Describe the source of your inspiration; be specific and clearly describe what aspect of their work is reflected in yours. You can also tag your design with the name of the artist and the word “remix”.
If you download and use someone else’s piece of art, let them know by posting a comment on their artwork. The original artist will appreciate knowing how their original artwork was able to make an impact.
When you upload a new design, add descriptive tags. This will help your design become more discoverable on the Creative Collective and around the web.
If you enjoy a particular design, be sure to "like" it, and if you admire a particular artist, be sure to become a fan. This activity builds connections and makes the Creative Collective stronger.
Legal Considerations
Mozilla Creative Collective accounts are intended for members to share content that they themselves have created. Don't upload works created by someone else without explicit permission from the original artist.
No copyrighted material will be accepted, and please don't utilize the logos of non-Mozilla products in your designs.
All artwork must abide by Mozilla's trademark policies and style guidelines.
Stay in Touch!
The Creative Collective is a community for you, and we're counting on your input to help it evolve. If you have ideas, feature requests, bug reports or any other questions or comments, don’t hesitate to contact us.
